David Reid brings 20+ years of video game excellence to Chameleon Collective. As a three-time games CMO, David has a consistent track record of propelling game titles and platforms into category leadership, with billions in revenue driven on his watch.
David is a veteran senior and often times lone marketer for independent game studios, including record-breaking titles like RIFT at Trion and EVE Online at CCP Games. He currently works with multiple indie developers and has had remarkable success in the startup ecosystem, having been the marketing/publishing lead for $500+ million in video game financing. His fundraising successes span from raising a $2 million seed round led by Tencent for his startup MetaArcade to a $300 million round for Behaviour Interactive.
David’s career spans all levels of scale including strategic work at PlayStation and Xbox, launching and maintaining innovative titles like Behaviour’s Dead by Daylight and NCsoft’s Guild Wars franchise, and growing Trion Worlds from zero to over $100 million in revenue. He’s built full stack marketing teams from zero to 100+, and brings a spike in Games as a Service across all platforms, territories, and monetization models.
Prior to the games industry, David served as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, earned his MBA at The Wharton School, and received his undergrad degree at Duke University.
