Role: “Bugabootique” Team Creation

DESIGN A HIGHLY CREATIVE AND NIMBLE TEAM TO  HELP BUGABOO REDUCE ITS DEPENDENCY ON EXTERNAL ADVERTISING AGENCIES.

OVERVIEW

In today’s world, consumers are going through content faster than ever. The brands that prevail are the brands that can move quickly and capitalize on the moment. To do this effectively brands must be able to create their own content and minimize the reliance for outside agencies. Bugaboo set out to create an in-house team that would become their “content factory” called Bugabootique.

Chameleon placed an interim Executive Creative Director along with a Brand Director to help design the people and process, as well as, do the recruiting, onboarding, and provide employee mentorship. We brought a fully functional team of 10 into an integrated process in under 8 months.

Team Playbook

The Bugabootique Team Playbook was the final artifact of our 8 month long engagement. This document had a collection of strategic recommendations on the People, Process, and Technology it would take to run the team successfully in the first two years of operation. From job profiles for current and future roles, to the process for integrating with other teams and vendors. The playbook was created to help the team we hired to have all the crucial information we discovered through our time with the company and set them up for success.

Custom Tools and Templates

In order to streamline the process and efficiency of the team we created several tools and templates to make adhering to the process as simple and effortless as possible. For example we created an entire series of briefs to help engage the team for different types of projects. Each brief was co-designed with a variety of stakeholders to ensure it was easily adopted long after we’d gone.

Bugaboo Bootcamp Workshop

Three quarters of the way through our engagement we helped plan and organize a global workshop to help introduce the new team to the organization. We also facilitated breakout sessions to help educate employees on how to to properly engage with the team and use all the new tools we created. During the workshop our team collected comments and feedback and used it as valuable insight to iterate on the process one more time before it was officially rolled out.
