Executive Creative Director
I've always enjoyed making things and figuring out how they work. I started writing graffiti in Miami, then found my way into design, programming, and eventually building and leading creative teams. Each gave me a different way to look at a problem. I still draw on all of them as an Executive Creative Director. My name is Juan-Carlos. Two first names connected by a hyphen, which feels fitting for someone who's spent much of his career working across disciplines. Working at agencies taught me to understand people and make things they'd care about. In management consulting, I became a creative partner and helped build an experience design practice, learning how businesses operate and where design could help. I find a good business result just as exciting as a beautiful piece of work, especially when we can achieve both. Today, I work inside client organizations, helping build brands, shape digital products, and develop creative teams. That includes leading internal teams, improving how they work, and helping them build the capabilities to take on more themselves. I stay involved in the ideas and the details. Design is still something I love doing, and it helps me understand what I'm asking of a team. I want to make work we're proud of, help it do something useful for the business, and see the people making it grow along the way.

Juan-Carlos Morales has always been comfortable in the space between things. Art and business. Instinct and analysis. Making the work and making it count. For him, the hyphen in his name is a fitting way to describe a creative life that draws from both sides. As an Executive Creative Director at Chameleon Collective, he brings that perspective to building brands and the teams behind them. He has led creative teams at scale, bringing together designers, copywriters, and UX professionals and helping them grow in their craft while expanding what creativity can do for an organization. He builds teams, develops new capabilities, and gives creative talent a stronger voice in the business. His leadership starts with getting into the work alongside the people making it. Agencies like CP+B and Sapient taught him how to get people's attention and give them something worth caring about. At PwC, he brought that understanding into the business, connecting creative thinking to growth and results. Today, he brings both perspectives inside brands like WorkMoney, Pacific Life, and Bugaboo, embedding with their teams and helping them build the capabilities for themselves. That's where he does his best work: helping business leaders think more creatively, and creative teams take on more of the business.

How Shared Success Transforms Business
By Juan-Carlos Morales with Freddie Laker & Paul Lewis · 2024
What if the people who build a business also shared in its success? Collective Capitalism makes the case for a new operating model — one where proven specialists, aligned incentives, and shared equity replace the traditional agency pyramid. Drawing on the real-world playbook behind Chameleon Collective, Freddie Laker, Paul Lewis, and Juan-Carlos Morales show how distributed ownership, transparent economics, and a culture of contribution turn "shared success" from a slogan into a competitive advantage.

“Juan is one of the most exceptional creative and strategic leaders I have had the pleasure of working with. On many occasions I have watched Juan lead by experience and light up an executive team with great ideas - in the most complex enterprise situations. He is all heart and mentors his team, while pushing them to be their best. I hope to work with Juan more in the near future.”
“Juan was my right-hand during my brief time at Sapient. Or I was his, it’s hard to say… We’ve partnered together to pitch, create new product ideas, develop internal programs, mentor new teams and foster new talent. I have to say I couldn’t have done my job properly if it wasn’t for him. It’s rare to find a brilliant creative who understands the fine art of soft power to excite teams and keep them churning great ideas quickly and effectively. He’s always been a creative ahead of his time, bored with the advertising world and excited with the amount of good that creative minds could accomplish in the world. ”
“Juan and Cameleon Collective set up the in-house agency at Bugaboo and they hired me as a Creative Director to take over. It was a huge challenge and I was lucky enough to count on Juan in the firsts months to help me finding the right talent, arranging tools and processes for the team and defining purposes and goals within the company structure. Juan is a talented creative with a huge experience in the advertising industry. He has a proper feel for finding creative talent, shape strong teams and take the best out of them. Fast thinker, fantastic illustrator and on top of that a really fun creative partner to work with. It was a privilege for me to have him as a mentor and I have learnt things with Juan that I will keep for life. ”
“Juan is a Creative Leader and practitioner of design craft. His understanding of how to set a vision and the steps to get there have earned his teams admiration, his partners’ respect, and the clients’ trust. I appreciate his authenticity and commitment to going further... it’s infectious.”
