About Bugaboo

Bugaboo is a premium Dutch design brand best known for its iconic strollers (Cameleon, Fox, Donkey, Bee lines), founded in Amsterdam in 1994. The company has grown from a single stroller design into a global juvenile-products brand sold through its own e-commerce site, branded retail stores, and a network of premium baby-goods retailers worldwide.

The Challenge

Bugaboo, a luxury stroller brand and 20-year pioneer, was falling behind on eCommerce as innovative challenger brands entered the market. It needed to revitalize its digital strategy, adopt eCommerce best practices, and respond to market pressure.

Our Approach

Bain Capital engaged a Chameleon Collective interim leader to assess Bugaboo's operations, and Bugaboo then invited that leader in to define a new digital vision and strategy. The work reorganized teams, invested in new technology, and built a growth model and global budget. We implemented a digital marketing growth engine to drive website revenue and improved the user experience to lift conversion, alongside new processes and training tools to align and strengthen the departments.

The Impact

Chameleon Collective's interim leadership reshaped Bugaboo's digital organization into a more efficient one that adopted best-in-class digital and eCommerce practices. The changes grew website revenue and improved conversion rates, strengthening Bugaboo's position in the luxury stroller market.
