Founded in 2010 by Elle (founder/CEO) from a home-based operation, the company has grown into a global brand recognized by The New York Times Wirecutter as 'Best Wrap' and featured in Vogue, Parents Magazine, and the Today Show.
The Challenge
Amid leadership transitions, Solly Baby reached a pivotal moment. With its recently appointed CEO departing, the brand needed a seasoned leader at the helm. This wasn't just any leadership role: Solly Baby wanted someone with operational and financial experience plus the agility to redefine the growth narrative, bridging the perspectives of its PE firm, Montage Partners, and the brand's owners.
Our Approach
Working closely with both Montage Partners and the brand's owner, Chameleon Collective shaped the ideal CEO profile for Solly Baby: someone rooted in startup leadership who also thrived in commerce and marketing-driven growth. We cast a wide net across the US, targeting candidates with an affinity for the baby and kids sector, which produced a strong talent pipeline of about 15 candidates for in-depth conversations with the team.
The Impact
Within a brisk eight weeks, we narrowed the field to three strong finalists and onboarded an excellent CEO in the summer of 2023. The new leader didn't just fill the role; they integrated quickly with the team, brought fresh energy, and made key hires to strengthen Solly Baby's future.
