The Challenge
Retention.com, a leader in re-marketing to consumers who leave items in their ecommerce carts, identified a critical concern: the deliverability of its retargeting emails. Because its effectiveness depended on that, the company wanted to minimize its complaint-to-send ratio and protect its email sender reputation.
Our Approach
Chameleon Collective created a distinct media brand, Latest Greatest. Knowing that retargeting emails tend to draw spam complaints, the strategy was to send the Latest Greatest newsletter through Retention's IPs, diluting the impact of any complaints against a large, successful send volume. Because Retention wanted to limit the demands of running media, we built AI into the heart of Latest Greatest, enabling daily emails with minimal weekly human oversight. The launch started with a seed list of thousands, setting up rapid growth.
The Impact
Within nine months of its 2023 launch, Latest Greatest grew to nearly 60,000 subscribers with an average open rate of nearly 60%. The result was more than one million monthly sends without complaints, significantly improving Retention's deliverability. The strategy protected the company's reputation and strengthened its delivery performance as its client base grew quickly.
