About Captive Resources

Captive Resources, an industry leader in group captive insurance consulting, empowers mid-market companies to take control of their insurance risks and costs. With over 40 years of experience, their innovative member-owned group captive model offers clients greater transparency, control, and potential dividends based on actual loss performance.

The Challenge

Captive Resources faced a challenge familiar to many legacy B2B organisations: a complex value proposition paired with outdated, inconsistent sales materials. Their existing deck struggled to clearly communicate the benefits of their group captive model, often overwhelming prospects with jargon or dense information. As a result, brokers lacked the tools to effectively pitch the offering, and employers failed to grasp the transformative potential of owning, not renting, their health insurance.

Our Approach

To understand the nuances of Captive Resources’ sales challenges, we began with stakeholder interviews and sales call shadowing. This discovery phase revealed a need to simplify a complex offering and reposition the company as a transformational partner for both brokers and employers. We developed a messaging framework centred on “control” as the core differentiator, supported by values of transparency, flexibility, and trust. This strategy informed not only what we said, but how we said it. Solution: We translated the new messaging into a fully redesigned sales enablement deck that balanced strategic storytelling with clean, modern design. Anchored by the narrative “From Passenger to Pilot,” the deck clarified how Captive Resources empowers clients to take ownership of their healthcare spend. We restructured the content around clear value pillars, designed custom infographics to explain insurance layers and cost dynamics, and built a modular format so teams could easily adapt the deck to different audiences.

The Impact

The new sales deck immediately elevated how Captive Resources showed up in the market—giving brokers and internal teams a professional, persuasive tool that clearly articulated value and differentiation. The messaging helped simplify complex topics while reinforcing CRI’s leadership in group captives. Early feedback from stakeholders noted increased confidence in presenting the offering, better engagement from prospects, and a stronger sense of alignment between brand story and business growth goals.
