Turned around a struggling 8-person CRM team in 3 months, restoring trust and morale with zero attrition.
WorldRemit

In 2020, global fintech company WorldRemit brought me in through Chameleon Collective for what began as a three-month engagement to optimise their retention strategy. However, it quickly became clear that the CRM organisation needed more than strategy—it needed leadership, structure, and stability. That initial scope evolved into a nine-month engagement focused on team transformation.
The Global CRM team of eight had been through a period of high turnover, including the loss of their Senior Director and Senior Manager. Morale was low, internal processes were chaotic, and the team had a reputation across the company as unreliable and disorganized.
Two months into the engagement, I was asked to step in as interim Senior Director of CRM Engagement, with full leadership responsibility for the team. My role shifted to focus on implementing clear workflows, improving communication across departments, establishing reliable delivery processes, and mentoring individual team members.
Within three months, the turnaround was clear. The CRM team went from one of the least trusted to one of the most respected and dependable teams in the company. We didn’t lose a single team member during this time—morale improved significantly, collaboration across departments was restored, and output became more consistent and strategic. One of my proudest moments was mentoring a high-performing email marketing manager, who was promoted to Senior Marketing Manager during my tenure.
When WorldRemit hired a permanent Senior Director to take over the team, I remained on for an additional month to support a smooth transition and collaborate on a long-term CRM strategy.
As Cecilia Mourain, VP of Revenue Strategy & Operations, shared:
“Jonathan is thoughtful, consistently reliable, and brings a very calming and positive energy to those around him... His biggest contribution was all the knowledge and experience he shared so generously with the team, leaving behind a lasting heritage.”
Antony Lea, who succeeded me as Senior Director of CRM, added:
“Through his assured, experienced leadership style, Jonathan translated all the ‘noise’ into a considered, coherent CRM strategy. The team I inherited was skilled, confident, and well prepared—100% a reflection of his guidance.”
The legacy? A well-functioning, confident, and engaged CRM team—built not just for recovery, but for sustainable success. This engagement remains one of my most meaningful leadership experiences.
