The Kooples is a French contemporary fashion brand offering premium ready-to-wear apparel, accessories, and leather goods for men and women. Operating through both e-commerce and physical retail boutiques, the brand is positioned in the premium contemporary fashion segment with a rock-chic aesthetic.
The Challenge
2022 was a year of reinvention for The Kooples. As the brand embarked on a global rebrand, it needed to restructure its eCommerce and marketing division. The challenge grew when its long-standing eCommerce Director left unexpectedly, creating a significant leadership gap.
Our Approach
Working with the new US CEO and aligned with The Kooples' vision, Chameleon Collective went beyond recruiting to build a cohesive, synergistic team. Between 2021 and the end of 2022, we filled six pivotal roles. Given the unusual sequence of hiring team members first and then their leader, we focused on making sure each professional meshed well. We onboarded an eCommerce Director, an Online Sales Manager, a Partnership Manager, an eCommerce Manager, a Performance Marketer, and eventually a Director of Sales.
The Impact
The assembled team played a central role in The Kooples' success in 2022. They supported the new CEO and provided a stable foundation, removing any need to rebuild the team from scratch. The clearest proof of the work came when several of the people we identified in 2021 began moving up the organization, a sign of growth and stability for The Kooples.
