Thorsten Rhode, in various marketing leadership roles, has launched consumer products (from brands expanding into new international markets to line extensions on a national level). In the process, he built and maintained retail partnerships in mass-market / high-volume / high-growth as well as specialty / low-volume / premium environments. In close partnership with Sales, he applied his retail expertise to optimize success at the point-of-sale (POS).
While he understands the importance of pull-marketing, he also has deep experience with the various sell-in requirements at national and regional outlets, from retailer-specific trade marketing to proprietary digital tools. Independent of channel, he knows how to efficiently track, analyze, and coordinate optimization measures with the sales team and the retail buyer.
As far as push-marketing goes, he has designed highly integrated B2B- and B2C-campaigns for a national launch in the rapidly growing Greek Yogurt market (at Safeway, Albertsons, Ralphs, Walmart, Costco, etc.) – leveraging tools like ibotta & Catalina to generate trial and repeat purchases for a positive ROI. In Europe, he has – for example – overseen the POS-support at medical supply stores for a premium manufacturer in the medical aids segment.
