Fractional Leader | Consumer Insights, UX Research, Brand & Marketing
David helps product and marketing leaders turn customer understanding into decisions that drive growth. He has spent his career where customers, product, and brand meet. He built consumer insights functions from scratch at Eventbrite and Fitbit. As a VP at Ancestry, he grew the insights team and expanded into leading a 25-person organization across UX research, brand strategy, pricing and packaging, competitive intelligence, and marketing operations. Much of his experience has been in consumer health: wearables, DNA testing, diagnostics, and 3D-printed oral care. In health, he has marketed to both consumers and the providers. As a VP at Labcorp, he led the direct-to-consumer diagnostics business, its fastest-growing segment, along with primary care marketing. Today he steps into interim and fractional roles for consumer brands. That includes building consumer insights and UX research functions, leading brand and integrated marketing, and advising founders and executives on product and marketing strategy. What ties it together: David believes the reason to understand customers is to create competitive advantage, knowing them so well it gives a company an edge in the market. Interesting facts don't do that. Real insights do, and a real insight has to be intuitive, inspiring, and actionable for the business. And it only matters if the organization acts on it. That's why his work doesn't stop at a deck: he brings the right people together, makes recommendations, and works with the team to implement a plan.

David helps consumer & digital health companies bring structure and strategic clarity to how they go to market. As a fractional CMO, he partners with founders, executives and investors to sharpen positioning, focus growth strategy and build the marketing engine to deliver it. As a product development scientist at Clorox, David learned that a great product earns you a place in the market, but customer experience is what wins it. That insight has guided 20 years of marketing, brand and strategy leadership. At Labcorp, he led the direct-to-consumer diagnostics business, the company's fastest-growing segment, managing a $100M+ COVID testing business and building its first consumer strategy. As CMO of Proclaim, a 3D-printed oral health device startup, he led dental provider and consumer marketing in a B2B2C model. At Ancestry, he launched AncestryHealth and led a 25-person insights, UX research and brand strategy team. At Fitbit, he built the global insights and brand strategy function behind every product launch. As a fractional leader, he launched Proov's at-home perimenopause test on Amazon and led the AI-driven segmentation that shaped Sequel Med Tech's insulin pump go-to-market. David holds a Master's in Biological Engineering and a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering, both from MIT.
