About Komatsu Mining Corp. and Komatsu America

Komatsu is a leading global manufacturer of heavy equipment for construction, mining, forestry, and industrial applications. S.

The Challenge

Komatsu Mining's marketing division was at a turning point. It had a vision of blending talent, culture, and strong strategic marketing, but the reality fell short: the potential was there, yet the output and coordination needed work. The team brought in Julie Mantis and Brian Adamovich from Chameleon Collective to recalibrate, so activity translated into real results.

Our Approach

Chameleon Collective began with a Gap Assessment and Strategic Recommendation that exposed resource gaps, missing skills, and opportunities tied to Komatsu Mining's objectives. The recommendations were holistic: a revamped organizational framework, clear role definitions and activity specifications, supportive technologies, and relevant KPIs. Moving from plan to execution, we built workflows through collective brainstorming so every team member found their place in the new structure. Training was central, with both marketing and creative teams coached on the new methods. We stayed on as mentors until Komatsu Mining's team could run it themselves.

The Impact

Komatsu Mining integrated cross-functional marketing practices and streamlined its operations. The in-house team became fully utilized, which had a ripple effect: staff retention rose and the previous reliance on outsourcing was no longer needed.
