Ron has served as a Fellow at Robots and Pencils, an industry leader in the development and implementation of mobile, web, and frontier technologies, since 2017. He has also been a director for Team Car Care, the largest Jiffy Lube franchisee, since 2018. Most recently, Ron was the Chief Executive Officer of Art Van Furniture, a TH Lee Company. Ron is a globally experienced organizational transformation specialist sought out by boards to help them navigate some of the toughest operating environments within the consumer products, technology, and retail sectors. His leadership has rapidly transformed underperforming businesses and operating groups as well as non-profits to create measurable results in extraordinarily short timeframes.
Ron has held C-level roles as CEO of Barnes & Noble, Sears Canada, and Brookstone, as well as senior leadership positions at Sony, Toys R Us, Sears Holdings and Best Buy. Philosophically, he embraces inclusive leadership, management empowerment, and capability creation, while recognizing that coming to grips with major transformation always requires facing uncomfortable realities on the part of management teams and the boards of organizations.
Ron has MBAs from Columbia Business School and London Business School. He is the co-founder, along with his wife, of the Ferguson Noonan Foundation, a 501(c)3 charity focused on educating underprivileged children. He is a member of National Board of Directors of the Multiple Sclerosis Society as well as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of John S. Burke Catholic Highschool. He was awarded the S. David Feir International Humanitarian Award by the Anti-Defamation League and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Community Leader of the year award on two occasions. Ron and his wife Faith live in Warwick, New York.
